Step 1: recognizing that you have a problem

It is official. Despite my protestations and insistence to the contrary, I am addicted to coffee. I have been awake for six hours, and yet I cannot clear the cobwebs from my brain because I haven't had my morning joe. This is a problem.

Coffee is good for you. Coffee is your friend. Coffee will spoon with you (or is that you spoon the coffee...not sure)

What's the big deal? It only takes a couple of days without coffee to readjust. Get hooked on something harder.

Seriously? This is not a problem. I have to agree with Namby there.

I love me some coffee. I will make a fresh pot at 4:30 in the afternoon and finish it. Right now, visiting the fam, we're buying coffee in bulk because even though only my parents have stuff to do (the rest of us are on school breaks of various sorts) all five of us will drink roughly three, sometimes as many as six pots in a day.

Coffee is wonderful, especially if you have to get out of bed before noon. (Which I don't, but it's the principle of the thing!)
