No seriously, NFL news this time

The Detroit Lions are shaping up to be one of the worst-run organizations in the NFL these days. In any given year there are a number of bad teams, but the Lions have been consistently poor as an organization for awhile now. Really only the Cardinals and Saints rival them, in my opinion.

So what do you do if you're a Lions fan? You come up with two great ideas to get your message across. The first is an "orange out." A group has asked the fans at this week's game to wear orange to make it look like Ford Field is filled with Bengals fans. My Michigander friend reports that the second initiative is the Millen Man March, a peaceful protest asking for the firing of team president Matt Millen. Since Millen took over after the 2000 season, the Lions are 27-50.

Pure brilliance.

Barry Sanders and the Lions own you and your blog. Cleveland and Northeast Ohio could only dream of having so many championships as the city of Detroit. While I'm from Toledo, we are technically a suburb. Plus the MudHens are in the top five for sold sports apparel of any professional or minor leaguge sports team over the past ten years.

Cleveland Sucks.

I have a hard time believing that the Mudhens are in the top 5 for sold sports apparel out of all professional or minor league sports teams. This includes teams like the Yankees, Red Sox, Lakers, Cowboys, Steelers, etc.

Yeah right. You and the Mudhens can blow that stat out your ass. I'll bet they're not even ahead of all Minor League teams. I'll put $5 down that says the Durham Bulls have sold more apparrel than the Mudhens.

Actually, the MudHens do sell an awful lot of merchandise. Actor Jamie Farr, of M*A*S*H fame, is from Toledo and would apparently reference the team frequently on the show. Saying that they outsell most big-league teams is probably a stretch, but their international popularity is huge.

Also, henceforth I will not be responding to anonymous comments. If you've got something to say, include your name or risk being deleted.

Actually in the late 90's Sports Illustrated came out with the sports apparel statistics and the Mud Hens were second behind the Dallas Cowboys. I know this because it was the biggest thing that has happened to Toledo since Katie Holmes.

Maybe if you had been a little more polite and had the balls to leave your name...I would have considered picking you up a t-shirt, maybe a cap - over Christmas break.
